How do you juggle a full-time job and a family?

LOL - I kind of don’t have to anymore as mine is all grown up! Back when I did have to juggle, it was hard. You need a great support network around you, friends & family and understanding workplaces. I have always managed to have these which has been very fortunate.

What does being a mum mean to you?

It’s priceless and thankless and hardwork all rolled in to one and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There aren't enough words!

How do you juggle a full-time job and a family?

Having a supportive husband who is equally involved in the juggle takes pressure off. We also have an amazing family network that totally saves our butts! Having a very understanding and supportive work team has also been incredible.

What does being a mum mean to you?

This is a hard one. I think being a mum can mean different things at every stage but I think being a constant safe place and a place of encouragement and support is important. To have the opportunity to create a great life for them and help them grow into wonderful people is being a mum.

A parenting memory you’ll cherish forever.

There are too many moments to mention! Seeing the bond between Ocean and Sunday after Sunday was born was pretty special. An overall parenting moment I will always cherish (and hope to do a few more times!) is actually pregnancy itself and birth. We had an incredible birth experience both times and it really does hold a special place for me.

How do you juggle a full-time job and a family?

Sometimes well, sometimes not so perfectly. It really depends on the day and what’s going on individually with kids. I’m lucky enough that my hubby, Cam, is able to stay home whilst the kids are so little. Having that support from him and knowing the crew is well looked after whilst I’m away makes it so much easier for me to leave in the morning and focus solely on all things Buying and Design.

I love working in my field. I have a very vivacious team here and my day-to-day work life is pretty busy and demanding. So when I’m home with my people, I try to always be present around them and soak up as much as I can from the day gone by. I have the benefit of knowing that these days of having 4 tiny people running around like crazy people are preciously short lived - so I give it my all.

What does being a mum mean to you?

Pretty simply- making my four feel loved to no return and having them grow up to be nice humans. I hope that we raise caring souls and intelligent kids that are aware of who they are and how they want to eventually show up in this big old world.

A parenting memory you’ll cherish forever

I have too many! With four kids under six years, there’s always something funny happening in our household! I occasionally see little snippets of the kids showing love for each other – whether it’s a sneaky cuddle or the boys being protective of their little sister. It doesn't happen often, so when it does, we take notice!

How do you juggle a full-time job and a family?

I’m super lucky having such a great work + life balance thanks to SurfStitch. We always make sure we go on a nice walk down to the beach as a family in the afternoons and spend our weekends together doing something fun as a family.

What does being a mum mean to you?

Being someone that my daughter can look up to and feel safe and loved around. It means the world to me.

A parenting memory you’ll cherish forever

Our daughter is so funny. She has a huge personality and a lot of character. Watching her grow and come out with her funny comments have definitely been the best memories.

How do you juggle a full-time job and a family?

The key for me is having an amazing husband! He supports me and always helps with the cooking, cleaning and whatever it takes. We are a great team. 

What does being a mum mean to you?

I am a mum and step mum. Watching both the girls grow, face challenges and overcome them makes me really proud. It makes me think of my mum and the impact she had on my life. Being a mum to me is raising strong, confident and loving girls and helping them develop into incredible women of a new generation.

A parenting memory you’ll cherish forever

The day my daughter was born was incredible. I also really cherish a really small moment when my eldest stepdaughter and husband came into visit us in hospital shortly after her birth. The 2 girls met for the first time - it was such a beautiful moment. I just knew they would have something special. They have been great friends ever since.

How do you juggle a full-time job and a family?

Time is key - prioritise, prioritise, prioritise! Learn to laugh at yourself and not stress over the small things. Things always work themselves out! You CAN have a career and be a good mum.

What does being a mum mean to you?

It's the best thing in the world. Watching a mini-you learn and grow is awesome. You can also re-live your childhood, as you’ve got to join in the fun with them, right?! 😉

Going on our first family holiday as a fam of four to Ibiza with a 6 week old and a 2 year old... Mini disco at the hotel was actually pretty fun!
