The Vans Story
In 1966, brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren open The Van Doren Rubber Company in California with the unique offering of shoes made on site and sold directly to customers. Not long after, they design the deck shoe which is now known as the VANS AUTHENTIC and it becomes a staple of street and skate footwear for generations to come. The 70's see the addition of classics like the Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta designed Vans Era, and the OLD SKOOL with the now iconic Vans Sidestripe, and the VANS CLASSIC SLIP ON designed for BMX riders.
After the company nearly disappeared in the mid-80's, it had a massive resurgence in the 90's and remains one of the core streetwear brands to this day.
From sneakers to snowboarding to surfing to skateboarding, Vans keeps the classics coming and stays as OFF THE WALL as ever.
