Who is Julia Muniz?
I grew up spending my days by the beach, always playing. surrounded by my family and friends. I'm passionate about people and life. I was born and raised in Brazil and I only recently moved to the US to pursue my modelling career. I'm a 20-year-old girl that has always been searching for happiness and freedom. At age 15 I decided that I was going to follow my dreams no matter what, and I worked really hard for that. I'm still looking for who I'm and each day I find out new things about myself, and that’s what motivates me.
How did you get into modelling?
I started modelling actually through surfing. I always surfed for fun and one day, I was 14/15 years old, a lifestyle brand saw me on the beach and gave me my first modelling job, I have been modelling ever since.
Tell us your health and fitness secrets?
I try to always stay active and to be the best version of myself. We all have our own unique body type, we should not try to look like somebody else. I do exercises that are great for my mind and my body. I've been practicing yoga lately and it’s my favourite.
Tips for traveling in comfort?
I always travel in sweatpants and bring the fluffiest jacket that I have. I never wear make-up when on a plane and I ALWAYS use a super-rich moisturizer on my face.
Favourite destinations to travel to?
Brazil, Bali and Tahiti are my favourites!
We see that you surf, tell us about your favourite wave?
The best wave I've ever surfed is in Salina Cruz - Mexico! I went with 5 of my girlfriends and that was one of the best trips of my life. The wave there is so much fun and you surf all day long.
Any tips for aspiring models out there?
If you want something, FIGHT for it. Hustle is the key for building your modelling career. You need to be mentally strong and make sure you love yourself! Be aware that you are going to be rejected so many times, and that’s totally fine. Our differences are what make us beautiful and the industry is changing so much. Opening up for all body types and that’s amazing. Submit your photos to an agency that fits you and keep trying.
