“Snapper through to Greenmount is such a good wave for longboarding. It’s really underrated! Everyone always thinks of Byron and Noosa but they never think of Coolie as a longboarding spot…. It’s what I love! It makes me the happiest!”

Ladies Of The Sea: Ivy Thomas

Welcome back to Ladies Of The Sea, a segment celebrating the talented women in surfing whom are each making a mark in the scene through their unique styles, varieties of different chosen crafts and hunger for adventure.

In our latest episode, we hang out with Coolangatta’s own Ivy Thomas. Known for regularly gracing the line ups of Snapper, Rainbow, Greenmount and Kirra, the 19 year old has been on our radar for a while. With a bubbly personality full of smiles and fun, combined with an ever growing passion for surfing, her attitude reflects through her time spent in the lineups of her own backyard – always the first in the water and always the last to leave.

Tune in below as we learn more about life in paradise with Ivy, including why the Superbank is in fact great for longboarding despite its strong reputation for performance surfing, what it’s like having one of the world’s best waves are her doorstep, her weapon of choice and more!
