Brand Feature: The Bumbag Co.

No pockets? No problems! Say hello to the brand bringing back 90’s skate inspired accessories, The Bumbag Co. and their evergrowing collection of bumbags, backpacks and more.

First things first, the look itself is said to be the trend setter for present times and the summer ahead, though it’s important that we all recognise that these guys have been bringing it back since early 2016, you know, before the comeback of the fanny pack gimmick. Inspired by one then officially created by 10 skaters and likeminded crew in Oceanside California, the brand first came to fruition when the group decided to set out on their own to both establish a brand and skate more, all at the same time. Since the beginning, the aesthetic and values of The BumBag Co. have been straight up and simple – To offer a range of to keep your stuff safe, with style and convenience. Throw in a few different templates and colourways, and you have the latest collection, inspired by skate, street and surf cultures, that we are proud to finally welcome instore!

“In terms of inspiration, really that just comes from two places. What we all like as a collective group and also the opposite direction of whatever other people are doing. This day and age, everything has been done, we want to try and do something different. Something fresh.”

Give us a rundown of the brands fruition and who the team are?
The Bumbag Co. was started by a group of 10 homies out of Oceanside, CA in 2016 long before the fanny pack gimmick came back. Our homie Bobby Long was rocking a fanny pack for years and we decided to make our own as a way to all work on a project and skate more together. We are fortunate to have the support of skateboarders such as, Jackson Pilz, Jesse Noonan, Jack Kirk, Jamie Foy, Kevin Long, Nora Vasconellos, Kevin White, T-Funk and the list goes on for about 150 other homies across the world.

What’s the brands identity and what’re you all about?
There is not much to what we are about... We are forever down to lurk with the homies, make bags that keep ya stuff safe and do whatever keeps us all feeling creative that day - be it skating, surfing, music, art, whatever.

Let’s talk inspiration behind the trend, colourways, bag templates and more!
In terms of inspiration, really that just comes from two places. What we all like as a collective group and also the opposite direction of whatever other people are doing. In this day and age, everything has been done, we want to try and do something different, something fresh. We are super juiced that SurfStitch is down to support a group of homies putting in the work from the ground up. So much respect to everyone that backs or program and nothing but love to anyone who supports. You are all on the team!
