Rue Stiic: 5 Reasons To Love Bali

With winter in its final days, we keep catching ourselves daydreaming about balmy summer afternoons, cold beverages and salty swims!

One of our fave brands that are always living their best summer life is Rue Stiic. Being based in Byron Bay and handmade in Bali, you know that all of their pieces are made to embrace that coastal lifestyle that we love so much. One of the perks of having a Bali based office is that the Rue Stiic team get to enjoy a yearlong summer in one of the world’s most idyllic locations.

We caught up with team Rue Stiic to what they love most about the island that they call home!

#1 WARM BREEZES, PALM TREES AND MARGIES!

Three of our favourite things! Is there any better way to spend a warm afternoon than taking in that fresh salt air and sipping on a margie? Trick question! There is definitely nothing better.

One of our fave places to do both of these things is at The Lawn in Canggu. Get there early in to get a spot by the pool and soak in the afternoon sun. Bliss!

#2 INSPIRATION CAN BE FOUND AROUND EVERY CORNER

And we mean every corner! One thing that we’ve learnt from our time spent in Bali is that the slow island life makes you stop and take everything in. From aesthetically pleasing cafes, to amazing coastal outlooks and beautifully curated stores, we’re constantly finding new sources of inspiration.

#3 THE ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES TO CREATE AND WORK WITH ARTISANS 

Bali is an amazing creative hub for anything and everything. From fashion to homewares and everything in between; there are some seriously amazing artisans and creatives that call this island home.

With Rue Stiic’s production being Bali based, it gives us the opportunity to connect with so many talented artisans. All Rue Stiic garments are handmade, from hand-printing to pattern making, cutting, sewing and detailing; we’re all about the small touches! 

#4 THE BEAUTIFUL TROPICAL VISTAS

Bali is one of those places that you can look in every direction and be in awe of your surroundings. It amazes us how many different landscapes can be so close to each other! You could easily spend the morning having breakfast at a local café, overlooking the rice fields and then jump on the scooter to hit the beach and take in the coastal breeze for the afternoon; oh Bali, we love you!

#5 THE EXCITING INTERNATIONAL BUSTLE THAT SURROUNDS THE ISLAND 

There are so many talented and interesting people that call Bali home for both the short-term and long-term. We’re always having conversations with new people, we love hearing what brings everyone to this slice of paradise.
